Rockys soon to be second day!

Good evening everyone!

I'm snoozing a bit, so mommy is forced to write for me. Mommy takes such good care of me, but being an angel and a French Bull Dog one at that, my ears are huge like a bunny rabbit and open to the world of "infections", so she is stuck taking care of an ear infection in both ears...nothing life threatening, but she is forced to give me pills twice a day, drops in my ears twice a day and a liquid cleanser that I don't allow her to give me very easily! Whoops...I'm wasting most of it on the floor so she's inviting a friend over to figure this all out and keep me still to let them put this awful fluid medicine cleanser in my ears!

But, I digress. I'm sleeping and snoring away, so mommy will take over. Well, we last left off when mommy discovered I was helping the homeless in big ways! In fact, they looked forward to seeing me almost everyday and mommy almost felt "invisible. "If I wasn't at Venice Beach and she was just walking with friends, people would look at her, not say "Hi Lisa!" but say...hmmmm where's Rocky?!! Is there something wrong with him? Is he sleeping or not feeling well!  My mom was finding out she was going to have to play the gracious second fiddle to my big personaity and ride along on my coat strings or "wings" of an angel and learn to soar in the background while I performed my magic.
Being a French Bull Dog and an "alpha dog", I quickly learned how to amuse people and be the ham. Since I hate to walk too much, I would drop on the ground, begin to play dead, pretend I was exhausted and sleep or do the "crawl". Mommy got so annoyed at times she was forced to pick me up as I literally wouldn't walk home from the Venice Boardwalk and people again would laugh hysterically and point to her and say: Who's walking whom?"!!  Or "why do you work your dog so hard?" So, I found out it was good to play cute and got more and more attention at this.
She then decided to dress me up in outfits everyday. We decided our next project was to visit the Boys and Girls Club of Venice, California. She put me in an old fashioned stroller, dressed me up in funny outfits and for our first outting met 20 children in need of attention and love in after school care programs. We stuck to the little ones from 6 years old to 10 or so. I sat on their school tables and they petted me, gave me treats and I did cute tricks for them and let them feel how good it was to be around me. They took loads of photos with me and loved me coming. That was the beginning of many visits to see them. We go on most major holidays including Halloween and Christmas! I actually won "Best Santa" in a Santa Paws Parade in Long Beach over 500 other dogs and gave the money to animal rescue and pet adoption for some of my dis infranchised brothers and sisters without homes. So, we took this Santa Costume on the "road" so to speak and brought good cheer to the kids at the Boys and Girls Club. We brought candy and treats, gifts to play games and win prizes and showed them how to take care of me and other dogs in a good way. My most silly costume was for Easter where I dressed as Peter Rabitt. I say this as I already have huge ears...why need the larger bunny ears to emphasize my funny features! So, kids that needed attention, love and support was my second venue of showing "emotional therapy" to children in need. Hey other dogs...and owners out there...try doing this, its fun, easy and very rewarding to kids...and won't cost more than going to a simple store and buying them cookies, candies and getting a few nice prizes for them. Watch them smile....you'll see the little ones turn into sweet angels and gobble up all the love of an animal!!
